The late Norman Jenkins was the head coach of the Crimson Wave, and he had a star studded lineup that year, featuring players like running back Brian Smith, and linebacker Ricky Hundley. The decade of the 1970's was a great period for Wave football. On a recent trip to St. Louis, to visit his beloved Cardinals, Terry Sisisky met with former Petersburg High star running back Terry Houston, now a principal at Roosevelt High School in St. Louis. The 50 year old Houston has been the principal since 2006. In the fall of 1976, Terry Houston rushed for 1,266 yards for the Wave, and was the Central District player of the year. He was first team all district and first team all regional back in 1976.
